Change Communications Manager
Plan International
Job Description
Date: 10 Sept 2025
Location: Globally, Flexible
Company: Plan International
The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a strategic and delivery-focused Change Communications Manager to lead communications for our most critical change initiative, the review of our Operating Model and considering the other strategic initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how we communicate complex change across a global federation, working closely with senior leaders and project teams to build trust, maintain engagement, and support staff through this evolution.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make a meaningful impact. You will need to have:
-
Proven experience in change communications within complex international organisational change projects.
-
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and craft compelling messages.
-
Strong strategic insight, able to anticipate organisational needs and adapt communications to maintain trust and engagement.
-
Credibility with senior leaders, acting as a thought partner and trusted advisor.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and teams.
-
Discretion and judgement, especially when handling sensitive information.
-
Resilience and proactivity, with a focus on high-impact delivery in a fast-paced environment.
-
Commitment to Plan International’s values and behaviours, including gender equality and inclusion.
