Job Description

Euroheat & Power, the international association for District Heating & Cooling (DHC), seeks a Project Officer.

The selected candidate will support the DHC+ team in managing a growing portfolio of EU-funded projects (LIFE, Horizon Europe) and carrying out related tasks. Projects range from renewable heating and cooling to integrated energy systems and digitalisation. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing a few EU projects (approximately 3 – 4 projects) and supporting the day-to-day operation of our organisation together with other colleagues.

 


Project Officer responsibilities:

Reports to the Director of Innovation and Sustainable Finance and Innovation Manager.

 

EU project management 90% 

  • Responsibility for EHP/DHC+ participation in selected EU-funded projects. EJP’s typical role in EU projects is communication and dissemination (as WP leader or partner), education and training, and policy uptake.
  • Management of responsibilities and tasks within each project, such as communication strategy development and implementation, physical and online event organisation, replication, knowledge transfer, and education activities, as well as stakeholder engagement and policy recommendations drafting.
  • Administrative management of each project including drafting deliverables as well as technical and financial reports.
  • Representation of EHP/DHC+ at project meetings and events, online and in-person presentations around Europe – several trips per year are foreseen.
  • Support in the development of new projects, building consortia, and highlighting funding opportunities for DHC+ members.

 

Day-to-day operation and support of EHP and DHC+ 10% 

  • Support the work of the DHC+ secretariat and ensure effective information sharing, cooperation, and communication with DHC+ and EHP members.
  • Actively engage members and other relevant EU-funded projects. 
  • General DHC+- and EU project-related communications and support: 
  • Provide input to EHP/DHC+ events, newsletters, and general communication activities.
  • Support and coordination of internal task forces/working groups.
  • Support the development of EHP/DHC+ in its daily work.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills. Familiarity with content management systems (such as WordPress, Preside) and communication /design programmes (such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop) is an asset. 
  • Passionate about sustainable energy – previous experience in the energy sector is a plus.
  • Capable of working both alone and in a team.
  • Highly autonomous, meticulous and organised. 
  • Creative, proactive and reliable.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of proven experience in EU-funded projects management/implementation.
  • Experience in the field of communication, preferably as a communication and dissemination work package leader. 
  • Knowledge of EU R&D&I policy and related funding programs and their rules (mainly Horizon Europe, Life, Erasmus+).
  • Excellent English (written & spoken), another language is a plus.
