Job Description

Eurogroup for Animals is the pan-European animal protection organisation which unites the voices of leading national and international organisations. We work to improve the welfare of as many animals as possible by leading and delivering coordinated advocacy and campaigns at European level. Eurogroup for Animals uses its knowledge and expertise to challenge EU decision makers and bring about positive change. Purpose of the role

We are offering the opportunity to join a team of highly motivated and skilled colleagues, driving efforts to create a good life for animals in Europe by pushing for improved animal protection-related legislation. The intern would support the Political Team at Eurogroup for Animals, and experience how the organisation designs and implements its advocacy strategy in the various policy areas : farm animals, companion animals, animals used for scientific purposes and wild animals. 

Primary responsibilities

  • Monitor legislative and political developments to be shared with colleagues;
  • Update and import political data in our CRM system (contact people/ meeting notes).
  • Support the tracking of political positionings; 
  • Support the drafting of oral/written questions, lobby briefs, letters and items for lobbying purposes; 
  • Support the organisation of meetings and events, as necessary, of the Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Currently studying in EU studies, political science, public affairs or similar.
  • Well-organised, with a good eye for detail, and focused on the delivery of concrete outcomes.
  • Strong writing skills and full proficiency in English.
  • Outgoing personality and proactive attitude.
  • Commitment towards Eurogroup for Animals’ goals, mission and role.

Location

  • To ensure a richer experience, the internship is taking place in our Brussels office, with a possibility for remote work from home (2 days/week).
