About EUROCONTROL

EUROCONTROL is an intergovernmental organisation that supports European aviation and aims to make it safer, more efficient and cost-effective. We deliver technical excellence and civil-military expertise across the full spectrum of air traffic management, while also raising key issues that face our industry. Our activities touch on operations, service provision, concept development, research, Europe-wide project implementation, performance improvements, coordination with key aviation players, and providing support to the future evolution and strategic orientations of aviation.

We have a neutral and in-depth understanding of how everything fits into the whole ATM environment, gathering and sharing data that allows our stakeholders to make informed decisions for the future. We improve the performance of the European network by acting as a bridge between civil and military airspace users. Our expertise spans research, development, operations and performance monitoring, and we develop innovative solutions to provide enhanced levels of safety and efficiency.

EUROCONTROL is governed by two bodies: the Permanent Commission and the Provisional Council. The Agency is the executive body, with a broadly-based stakeholder group involved in steering its efforts to ensure that the interests of all aviation stakeholders are represented. We have 42 Member States and 2 Comprehensive Agreement States, and our budget is subject to annual approval by the Member States through the Permanent Commission.
