
Junior Communication & Event Manager – Region West (1 year contract)

Job Description
The Contractor will be responsible for supporting and implementing communication activities to promote and increase the visibility of EIT Food in Western Europe. You will also assist in the development of activities within the portfolio of instruments planned inside the EIT Food West strategy and liaise with key stakeholders in Europe to perform initiatives at the highest standards. You will support the Regional Communication Manager in his daily work and coordinate projects by yourself.
As a Contractor for Communication and Events, you will work across multiple teams, departments, and stakeholder groups to deliver impactful, ambitious and well-targeted messages in order to make the food system more sustainable, healthy and trusted for all.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative and accustomed to working on different projects and tasks at the same time and to collaborate with the team. You will be a key member of our teams; to whom multiple teams across several departments will look for support about commitments and deliverables. You have at least 2 years of experience, a demonstrated high level of English (C1-C2) and foster a shared understanding of goals and commitments across teams with different styles and expectations
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the implementation of all communication activities related to EIT Food West projects and monitoring its progress. Operational support role in the implementation of the communication activities of EIT Food.
- Manage the communication strategy of these specific projects, by setting direction, creating content, promoting campaigns and events and liaising other colleagues to join forces and reach a broader audience.
- For this position, you will be particularly involved in the strategy and execution of the communication of various European projects. In these projects, it will be necessary that you cover all related actions about: activities plan, develop any kind of events and meetings; create specific content in different channels and several final reports as well as documents and fact sheets.
- You will have to provide communication support with outreach activities in paid campaigns, news and LinkedIn publications (and other social media channels if needed), create or coordinate educational and informative material (infographics, videos, etc.), organize and disseminate several workshops in Europe as well as any other activity related to Communication.
- For this position you will have to work on organising regional events as well as events on the full European level like the EIT Food flagship event Next Bite.
- Finally, you also need to supervise agencies, collaborators, calls and dissemination as well as data collection, reporting and all kinds of actions necessary and foreseen in them to improve visibility, communication and branding of these projects.
- Other common tasks:
- Brand management support: safeguard that all materials for dissemination and outreach follow the EIT Food brand guidelines to grow a strong brand identity.
- Support in the creation of reports of communication activities including data and surveys.
- Supporting the management team with the yearly reporting cycle.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in communication, marketing or journalism, or equivalent professional experience/qualifications.
- The ability to write good copy (native/C1/C2 English) for our different communication tools/to different communication targets.
- Very good command of Microsoft Office.
- A passion for food, innovation and sustainability.
- Strong experience with graphic design, especially Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, illustrator, Canva…
- The ability to confidently communicate with our colleagues, partners & suppliers.
- The ability to take ownership and initiative.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in communication-related field.
- Experience in report writing, managing websites, social media platforms, production of content and design, media coverage.
- Previous experience in copy-editing will be an asset.
- Previous experience in agrifood project, University project and/or European programs will be an advantage.
- Some experience in the food sector or entrepreneurship and startup area is a clear plus.
- Experience in communication for a wider network with different native languages and cultures

Full-time temporary position for 1 year.
LOCATION & TRAVEL FREQUENCY
EIT FOOD Office in Freisling, with occasional travel within Europe
