Job Description

The Egmont Institute is looking for a talented, skilled, and motivated trainee to join our European Affairs Programme as Project Assistant starting from 5 January 2026. The position involves providing logistical and organizational support for our projects and events and assisting in research activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in European studies, political science, international relations, law, or a related discipline
• Knowledge of the internal workings of the EU institutions and decision-making processes
• Excellent drafting and editing skills
• Excellent organizational skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and prioritizing, being responsive and a fast learner and have attention to detail; experience in the organization of events in the field of EU affairs and/or experience in EU projects are considered an advantage
• Fluency in English, and in French or Dutch is an asset
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Interest in working in a multicultural team
• Eligible to work in Belgium (EU citizen or valid work permit)

Our offer

We offer remunerated traineeship for a period of 6 months, starting on 5 January 2026.The successful candidate will join our dynamic office, where everyone plays an important role and has an impact. He/she/they will be in contact with representatives of the Belgian MFA, EU institutions, think tanks and academic organizations across Europe. The traineeship provides an opportunity to broaden your network in these circles and to fully experience the day-to-day work of a Brussels-based think tank.
