Description of the Association
Justice & Peace is an NGO and a Belgian Permanent Education organisation that raises awareness and challenges citizens, educational actors and politicians on issues of peace, democracy and environment. Justice & Peace encourages these protagonists to “understand to better act” for peace and justice, here and elsewhere.
The purpose of his work is to develop an awareness and a critical knowledge of the realities of society, on the basis of the methodologies of Continuing Education and Education to Global and Solidarity Citizenship, through analysis, awareness, training and political advocacy. Tasks
The mission of the animation manager is to develop and coordinate the activities of Justice & Peace around the themes of decolonization, memorial issues and reconciliation, and active citizenship. As such, he or she is required to master the issues related to these issues.
As part of the animation axis in Continuing Education, he or she runs groups of volunteers, provides and strengthens training for an adult audience. He or she supports the coordination of the quarterly magazine and ensures the research and production of analyses and publications on the topics covered. He or she is able to give these trainings, alone or with colleagues, and relies for this on the modes of formal and non-formal education (methodology of “seeing; judging; acting” of permanent education).
He or she brings his or her expertise to the advocacy division of the association to contribute to advocacy on decolonization. To strengthen this work, he or she actively participates in the network work with several partner organisations in the education sector and the NGO sector.
Profile sought
Expertise : mastery of the issues related to decolonization and memory processes. A solid knowledge of Continuing Education is essential.
CompétencesSkills: excellent writing skills, spirit of synthesis and clear ease in public speaking and conducting meetings.
FormationTraining: university degree in humanities, educational sciences or equivalent experience that can be valued.
Soft Skills: autonomy, sense of initiative, ability to work in a team and relationship ease.
FlexibilitéFlexibility: punctual availability in the evening and on weekends.
AtoutAsset: sensitivity to the values and identity of Justice & Peace.
Mandatory condition: to have the ACS status imperatively.
